Diangana or Antonio
|
Just thought I'd try to keep gank and one or two others happy by posting a West Ham thread - you can do it yourselves, fellas, if you're that bothered.
Anyway, given that we're so short of midfielders I'm assuming Snodgrass will play in the middle again, so who should replace Yarmo on the right wing? Antonio has had a few decent moments this season but is still looking a shadow of his former self. Diangana is inexperienced and a bit raw but looks fresh, positive and very promising. I would be inclined to start with him and maybe bring on Antonio after an hour. Any thoughts?

Probably fair. I think that playing Diangana in front of him worked to give him a reality check. He was probably embarrassed sitting there watching a kid playing in his place.
Since he responded well, it might be worth giving him a chance to start. He’s not the most effective player these days, but if he puts his head down and works hard, he might start terrorising defences again.

I'd play Antonio vs Spurs. Diangana has time on his hands. Antonio needs games and to show himself he can still do it.
I wouldn't play Antonio up front that's for sure. The only thing he can finish is second helpings of lard for dinner.

The way to prove me wrong is to actually say something connected to the topic, rather than just attacking me.

We'll be looking at over the £100m spent in the summer as we need 2 strikers as well. We can't go on turning 3 points in 1 in the last minute of games as we're already in a 4 point gap with Leicester in 12th.

Has Diangana got a full 90 minutes of a PL game in him yet?

I thought Antonio did a decent job when he came on up top, but he isn't and never will be a number 9.
I'd like to see him play RW on Wednesday to see if he can give that level of commitment for the whole 90 mins. If he can get back to the player we had a couple of years ago then he'll be way ahead of Diangana

This is made-up bollocks. You can't see inside other people's heads.

Diangana has shown allot more than Antonio has this season so no question for me.
The other big difference is that Diangana will be eager to prove himself and make the step-up.
Antonio is a much better player in his own head than he is in reality. He seems to believe that he has earn't the right to only put an effort in when he feels like it, which is not very often.
Antonio's attitude fucking reaks right now.

keep cresswell at left back and move Arthur on the wing,he is rapid and can cross a ball as well as Snodgrass imo.

Diangana for me:
If you look at what Eddie Howe at Bournemouth is doing with the young lad Brooks then we should be doing the same as I think Diangana is actually a better player. Playing them gives them confidence and helps them understand what they need to do/be to play regularly. He needs to get in the gym though. He's still a bit lightweight for me!

Antonio has lost both his pace and his unpredictability. He had his best game for ages yesterday, but we should take decent money while we can

Diangara all day long, exciting up and coming pllayer. Antonio just not very good with a complete lack of a football brain. Flog him in Janurary to Palace.
